Fiber Revival 2008 - The Loot

What was the big purchase?  (No, it wasn't an alpaca, Danielle; I couldn't fit one in my car.) 

Meet Lady Lucille.

As you may remember, I rented a Ladybug for a few weeks from  Amy.  It took less than a week for me to decide that this was the wheel for me, so I contacted Amy and asked her to bring one to Fiber Revival for me to purchase.  I love this little wheel!

Of course fiber was also purchased. It couldn't be helped; I was surrounded by beautiful fiber.  Amy and Heather had booths right next to each other.  Can you imagine?  My two favorite fiber artists.   What else could I do?  I HAD to buy some.

  I started spinning "Campfire" on Saturday; it spins beautifully.  I love the way the colors are blending.

It was a truly wonderful day!

Weekend Recap in Pictures (and another PRIZE)

First, an update on

We're up to $240!  Way to go people; that's a great start.  Now, as the title suggests, I have another prize to show you.  Heather of Sereknity is an incredibly talented fiber artist with a gift for combining colors in the most goregeous ways.  She has created a very special colorway in honor of my soon to be born (December) grand-daughter and has donated a skein of it as a prize!

Check out that name - Sweet Clover! Isn't it gorgeous? It's even more so in person. That's 400 yards of hand- dyed fingering weight yarn in 60% superwash merino, 30% bamboo, and 10% Nylon. It is so soft and so beautiful. Want to own it? Not only did Heather donate a skein of Sweet Clover as a prize, she also gave one to me! She's such a sweetheart; thank you so much Heather; you don't know how much it means to me.

Now onto the recap in pictures:

Patti and I headed down to Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm in Newbury, MA on Saturday for the Fiber Revival.  What a great day (aside from a bit of wind) and what a beautiful place to hold this event.  This was Heather's first vendor booth and I'm guessing she had a great day since we were only able to get over to talk with her at the beginning and end of the day.  Every time I thought I'd go say "hi" and see how she was doing, her booth was packed.

This little brown one was soooo soft; that's Lora's little Nathan (the cute guy with the red hair) feeling just how soft.

The white one was incredibly shiny and looked soft, but he wouldn't let me get near enough to pet him. But he let this little girl get pretty close - he belongs to her family's farm.

There was a weaver demonstrating her craft and there were a couple of circular sock machines; don't know why I didn't get pictures. I must have been having a senior moment :-)

I did get a picture of Nancy from Hair of the Dog, spinning some dog hair.
The hat she's wearing is made with dog hair and she had some items there that were made with dog hair and OMG, they are soft! Looks like Patti may be contemplating having her doggies' hair spun.

Not much knitting to show you right now.  There has been a little bit of knitting on the second School sock, but not much; I'm pretty much just keeping it as my mindless travel knitting.  I'm working on another bunny; this one is for Jay's niece who is turning 1 on Sunday.  I'm about 1/2 way done with that; I'll show you pictures when I finish it.  I've also done a little bit on the project I'm test knitting for Lark; can't show pictures of that yet.  I'm hoping to complete that project by the middle of next week and once I get the okay, I'll show you some pictures; it's really nice!

This coming Saturday is the Fiber Revival in Newbury, MA; who's gonna be there?  I've been bummed out about this because I was scheduled to work at the gym.  Notice I said "was" scheduled.  I just found out yesterday that a replacement has been found - YAY!  Patti, and possibly Roger (her hubby), will be going with me.  So, instead of making money I'll be spending some :-)  I'm guessing I'll be able to find a little something to add to the pile of prizes, too.

Well, I better get back to work.  Just have to make it through today and tomorrow and then I'm off work for two weeks - YEE HAW!
