Before leaving for the airport on that last day in Virginia, Dianne brought us to visit the National D-Day Memorial.
The National D-Day Memorial is located in Bedford, VA because that community experienced this country’s severest per capita losses on D-Day.
Walking through the memorial was a very moving experience; I'm so glad that we were able to take the time to visit it.
What better day than today, on the 66th anniversary of D-Day, to share some of that experience with you.
What a perfectly timed post!

I actually caught one of your D-Day Memorial pix on Facebook while I was at school and getting ready to teach social studies. And guess what we were covering that day? Weird, right? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Julie for sharing this!..
We're very proud to have this here..even if for reason of the location.
I missed the 66th but Mike did go..I was up to my elbows in birthday party..
Most happy that we were able to fit that in.
Love you,
Di
