(Two posts in one day is unheard of, I know, but I just had to share this with you.)
My great-nephew is one of the smartest kids I know. I don't say that because I'm related to him; I say that because it is fact. He is a real sweetheart too. The things my sister, his Nonni, tells me that he says to her just melts my heart. He is 5 years old and can read and reason like you wouldn't believe. I do not see him nearly enough, but am totally amazed by the everyday stories I hear about him.
Nothing tops the conversation his mother relayed on Facebook yesterday, though. With her permission, here it is:
Colin (to his mom): My friends at school told me that two boys can get married.
Christy (his mom): Yes, not in every state- but hopefully someday... people should be able to marry who they love- dont cha' think Colin?
Colin is silent for a bit- thinking really hard, then says: Well I guess I just have one question, Mama. Who wears the wedding gown?
Isn't it great that the only question he has is who wears what?
Absolutely Priceless!!!!!

That's my kind of boy!
If kids ran the world? yep, if they were all as kind, reasonable, sweet, and open minded as Colin. The pure shame is... there are a lot of sweet children being ruined. But not Colin. I'm totally charmed and smitten with Colin. xox

Kids are so much smarter than adults. When do you suppose we lose that clarity and common sense?

Great story. My niece, who was born after I got married, was looking at pictures of our wedding. There was one of the female judge who performed the ceremony. Who's that? She's the judge who married us. "She married both of you, or just Uncle G?"
