For years my neighbor across the street has had one of those offensive "Jocko" style lawn jockey'sin his yard. I don't know what happened, but for the past couple of years it wasn't out in the yard.
It's back this year, but it seems to have undergone a makeover.
WTF?!
He's been painted, but he's still pretty offensive.
It's interesting that there are two different stories trying to justify why these statues are not offensive, but each story seems to be apocryphal. I seem to remember hearing the one about the boy who froze to death when I was a kid.
Your neighbor's statue looks pretty freaky with its paint job. Maybe they need a flock of nice lawn flamingos instead? We could organize an invasion . . .

That is one scary lawn ornament!

My first thought that it wasn't so offensive as frightening. Take your hand out of your pocket and wash that stuff off of your face, ya freak.

Heheh, Amy.... but I'm with you, 'get your hand OUT of your pocket, you perv.'
FFS.

That is the kind of item I would plot the removal of while under the influence....and then Mr.M would go to it & I'd DIE in the lawn. But, it would make a hell of a story.

The first things that came to mind were, "Ewwwww! It looks like Chucky on chemo."
Ugh..I'd hate to face that monstrosity every morning. ;)

That thing is hideous. Is it supposed to keep all humans away? Cause if so, I'm sure it's doing an amazing job at it! Ewwww....

Creepy. Very, very creepy...

I would have pay someone to do a drive-by steal job to get rid of that ugly thang.

how horrid..it is really scary! I don't think I would like the people that like that monster in their garden!

Oh yikes! He looks like such a creepy creepy clown! I saw one of these (not painted over) recently not far from here. This one though needs antennae or something to dress it up. Fur on its face? A polka dot ruffle? By now you've seen your Clover... are you having fun???

Oh dear. That will give me nightmares. Maybe it's intended to keep solicitors at bay. The fake flowers and Alice Cooper eyeliner are nice touches. I'm curious about their interior decorating now... maybe not.

Hey! I was laughing so hard that my husband looked over my shoulder and proclaimed that this looks like Michael Jackson... he used to be black too.
