As I told you yesterday, I have my first WIP of '08 and my first FO of '08 to show you.
I started a pair of Felted Slippers on the 1st; I finished knitting the first one on the 2nd, and am half way through the second one. Here's the completed one (pay no attention to the ends still hanging around):

Pattern: Fiber Trends Felt Clog (AC-33)
Yarn: Lamb's Pride worsted in Sable and Oatmeal
Needles: size 13
and the reason for the first part of today's title:

Of course, this is pre-felting.
When I was almost finished, I asked Samm if she thought this new slipper would fit me. She looked at me like I had three heads. hehehehe I'm easily amused :-)
So, that's the first WIP; you want to see the first FO (and the reason for the second part of today's title)? I started it on Thursday night and finished it yesterday morning (total time was only a couple of hours).

It's a teeny, tiny preemie hat knit on size 2 needles with Bernat Baby Softee yarn. Here it is on the top of a coffee mug - can you believe how tiny this is?

Jeanne and Chell are having their 4th annual k3tog Preemie Hat Knitting Extravaganza! Their goal this year is to send 150 knitted preemie hats to Children's Hospital of St Paul. Want to help them? If you do, you will not only feel good about warming an itsy bitsy baby head, but you will have a chance to win prizes! So, what are you waiting for?
I'll end today's post with a little chuckle for you. Click here.
What a nice clean countertop! Love the tiny hat! Cool on the felted clogs, those have been on my 'to do' list for the longest time!
Heeeee..... Good one!

I love my felted clogs, be warned though, I had to send mine through the washer about 6 times before they fit. If you put them on and wear them for a few minutes while they're wet they will just mold to your feet. They're great. That little hat breaks my heart, I can't imagine a baby that tiny.

I've done multiple pairs of felted clogs! fun!
The funny was NAUGHTY! The boy was here and fortunately did not understand- hehe and whoops!
I should knit more preemie hats- The Mayor is a former 26 week preemie 1lb 6 oz 13" long at birth. I'll go through stash and grab some baby stuff!

I love that clog pattern. I get a big kick out of it every time I make it. Thanks for the mention, your hat looks perfect. And that last link was very funny.

THAT was hilarious...at first I was thinking, well, ok, but it was very funny at the end. I should make some hats... did last year, they are so quick. Were the clogs fun? They're on my to do list...

Slipper bigger than hat...the mind reels! I could probably knit preemie hats. They are the really little ones, right? We all know my difficulties with babies and gestation time and all that stuff. I know it's somewhere between 7 and 16 months...

Your slippers look great Noolie and I really like the colors you used! My green ones are on my feet right now as I write this. By the way, do you have the kids/infant pattern ('cause if not, I do - - let me know)?
The preemie hat is just beautiful and I would've never guessed that it was that small if you hadn't put it on the mug. Amazing (and heartwrenching too).
The link...that was a hoot! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the HEADS UP (sorry, couldn't resist) on the preemie hat campaign. I've had an urge to knit baby hats for some reason and now I've got a good excuse.
*hugs*

Love the clogs...I laughed at loud at the size of them! Pictures can be so deceiving about size. I have a pattern from Felted Knits like that. Thanks for the reminder, because I'm always wanting to make them when I see them. And the preemie hat is adorable. Loved the chuckle at the end there, too. Roflol!

It's amazing to see the changes that felting brings. I just finished a few pairs of felted slippers and they went from super huge to just right. That hat is very cute too.

Whoa! Look at those whopper slippers! Did they felt well afterwards?
