I have a lot to show you, so I think I'll use the bullet post format.
- I have a new double point needle case that I think is pretty awesome.
I ordered this from Zonda; isn't it great?! What better print for the crazy cat lady than a bunch of crazy cats :-) This needle case is incredible; the quality is better than any I've seen. Seriously, I am NOT exaggerating! I love how there is room for my short 5 & 6 inch needles, as well as the longer ones. There's even enough room left for my crochet hooks (well, for the ones I use the most). See the "scrunchie" in the last picture? That's what holds the whole thing closed - it's so clever. Thank you, Zonda; you do wonderful work! You really should check out her etsy shop!
- Speaking of Etsy shops, Samm has updated hers. She still has some items to put up, but check it out; she's done some wonderful work.
- Here's a little something I've been meaning to show you - some tags to sew in the things I've made for Clover.
- I finished Jay's socks:
Yarn: Lamb's Pride, color Sable
Needles: size 5 dpn's
Pattern: Yankee Knitter #29
- I made a pair of mittens for Jay's one year old niece for Christmas; these took three trys before I got the size right!
- I started a matching pair for her older sister, Chelya. (sorry for the fuzzy picture). I also plan to make each of them hats to match. I'm using Plymouth's Baby Alpaca Brush Paint yarn - it is so SOFT! The only problem with this yarn is that it seems to bleed; my needles are now pink and my hands are too. I hope the dye doesn't come off with normal wear! Is there anything I can do to prevent it? Any ideas?
- Bob's fingerless mitts/gloves are taking a trip to the frog pond. I just can't seem to get them right! I'm very frustrated and think I'll just give up on them and make him a second pair of socks. I may make another attempt after Christmas and give them to him later; then again I may never want to look at them again!
- Last week Samm asked me to help her make a belly cast. It was really cool to do (and kind of funny too; we laughed a lot). Once it was done and dry, she painted it. The nursery is decorated in an underwater theme and she decided to continue with that theme when decorating the cast. I think she did an awesome job; check it out:
and a close up:
She's going to hang it in the baby's room. Isn't it cool?!
- Check out this cool knitting advent calendar from Garnstudio. There's a new pattern for each day (but don't try to sneak a peak ahead; it won't let you).
- I'll leave you with this picture of Rico and Samm (check out Rico's bling, a rhinestone "R").
Have a great day!
Thanks for posting the case, so glad to see them in there, and how they all fit. (you know for future reference!)
Samm's body cast is wild! Great decorating idea too. That tag is so special and a great addition to her handknits by you too! Those socks and mittens turned out well, you are a knitting machine! :)

I am feeling less than productive here.
If I claimed to be a "process" knitter, would you believe me?
Great jobs!

MAn, you've been busy. Aren't Zonda's needles cases great? I have one for my interchangable needles that I love.

Just wanted to say that I love the idea of the belly cast! How awesome that is! Wish I had one of when I was pregnant with Tara almost 32 years ago! I was so touched seeing that that I am in tears!

dye problems? have you tried setting the yarn with vinegar and a warm water bath? Acutally, you might try a cold water and vinegar bath first.

That knitting case is really neat.
I wanted to do a belly cast at the end of my first pregnancy and then the little bugger came 2 weeks early! :) So I never got to do it. Maybe i'll do it with this pregnancy!
