How did this happen? There are only five days left until Christmas. We celebrate with the family on Christmas Eve (during the day), so I guess you could say I only have four days left. YIKES. How are all of you doing? Me – I’m further behind than I ever am at this point. Thank Goodness (Marcia) for Holiday Headstart or I'd be stressing out even more right now. I did most of my big (if you can call baby and toddler sweaters big) Christmas knitting throughout the year. But the shopping - haven't done nearly as well with that!
I am taking tomorrow afternoon off to finish up the rest of my shopping; I tried to do that last Saturday but I got frustrated very early on. I don’t do well in crowds or in lots of traffic. There were quite a few words coming from my mouth while driving that weren’t what you’d consider to be in the “holiday spirit”. I gave up fairly early and went home, figuring I’d do a little each night. Wrong. Here I sit with only four days left to finish, and I’ve barely accomplished anything.
I have done a bit of knitting on Jay’s socks (well, actually on Jay’s sock). Here’s a picture as of yesterday morning:
Berroco Ultra Alpaca yarn on size 5 needles; 48 stitches, Garter Rib.
(the blanket this is sitting on was knit for me by my then boss when I was pregnant with Samm; Clover uses it now)
Since taking this picture, I have plied half of it. I find the plying to be the most difficult part of spinning; am I alone? I’m hoping to finish this up tonight. It’s making a really pretty yarn!
And speaking of pretty:
What do you think she’s dreaming about that’s making her so happy? Dry diapers, maybe?
Good luck finishing up!! Aw, visions of sugarplums dance in her head?

SO.Sweet! snuggley baby!
the singles look great.. and yes plying can be a pain in the heiney. but at least for me it goes quickly!
I HATE crowds and traffic and too many People. I get crazy and paranoid - so 99% of Christmas shopping is done on line or at least early in the day before it gets too nuts. I would cry if I had to go out at night now!

If I hadn't had yesterday off, I wouldn't have made it. As it is, I still need to grab a couple of gift cards to compensate for the lack of knitting! Thankfully, Christmas comes but once a year. ;)
That is an awfully pretty Clover! I like to think she's dreaming of Spring. It's snowing again, in case you happened to miss that...

Yes, obviously she is not a knitter. ;o)

I used to love the crowds, now I don't. Only have 1 more gift card to get. Alpaca socks..those must be so soft!!
As for that pretty little girl, she's just precious!

Yours truly just does not do crowds anymore! I get all flustered and nervous...and people begin to irritate me...and then I'm not nice.
There is one person who may get 1 sock...mainly because I don't want to knit a pair only to not have them fit...and I can't think of a sneaky way to get a foot measurement...
She looks adorable! And, I promise I will get to Maine in the spring!!!

Same here... as far as celebrating... on Christmas Eve... haven't done a thing.. well, I have knit Gracie a pair of mittens, next up will be a pair for Conor... that's it. that.is.it. and furthermore? That.will.be.it.
Where DID the time go? What happened? I'm thinking the calender is just fuckin' with us, personally.

See? Hmmmm, what's Ms.Clover Grace dreaming of... her Noni? Mom and Dad? or maybe, just maybe, it's all the souls she loves and loves her 'visiting' her in her dreams... :^)

I had to go to the mall for an errand or 2 and I went late Tuesday night because I was afraid to be anywhere near the mall as it gets closer to Christmas. People everywhere!
I just love watching banies sleep and wondering what they're dreaming of. So sweet.

What a beautiful picture of Clover.
The lack of electricity for the better part of a week has thrown me completely off my knitting schedule, so you are not alone.
My family celebrates together on Christmas Eve also.

I have to admit, I scrolled down the post quickly to see a Clover pic before I went back up to do the reading... she is just precious.
Merry Christmas to you, and your family! Have a wonderful weekend, Julie!

That is one sweet baby.
I did finish knitting. I was a lucky that I did not have to work since the beginning of November or I would not have the product I have. 20 hand knit gifts and 1 Hess Truck.
I will be celebrating with my family in Sanford and we also celebrate on the 24th, usually way into the 25th. We all love Christmas!
I went out last Saturday, just to the local WalMart super store. I arrived at WalMart at 8:30 AM. Not too bad, some folks, not many. Leaving at 9:30 AM and taffic was backed up for 7 miles in either direction. Yikes!!!!
Merry Christmas
