Isn't she purty?!
She's on loan from Carole; thanks, Carole! Manise brought her to me yesterday morning and Cheryl came over and the two of them gave me a lesson. We sat out on the deck and spun and gabbed for a few hours; it was really great. Thank you, Manise and Cheryl, for spending your Saturday morning with me so that I'd feel comfortable with Alice!
I've said it before and I'll say it again (and probably again and again and again.....) I've met some great people through this little blog of mine!
And now, because Manise said I have to show you, here's a picture of what I spun on Alice:
It's not perfect, but I'm pretty proud of it!
I won't get much spinning done for another day or so; I MUST finish the test knit first; I'm almost done with that though. I can't wait to show it to you. I was able to spin a little bit more while waiting for some clarification on the test pattern though. I don't have a picture (it's really not enough to take a picture of yet), but I think it's coming out pretty good.
Check out the sidebar; we're up to $425! I've decided that I'll draw a prize when we hit $500 and I'll add another prize at that point too. So, what are you waiting for? Donate for your chance to win! Remember to post about it on your blog for another chance to win.
Enjoy Alice -- she's a great wheel!!

Nice to meet you, Alice! Wow! Look at that fine spinning already. You're a natural on it, Julie! I knew you would be. Now....you'll have to decide every evening....should I knit or SPIN???? (Alice is the twin of my Penelope) So happy for you!

That is a beautiful wheel. Do you have the option to keep her?

Isn't Carole just the sweetest? I sure hope you enjoy spinning with Alice. Makes me wish I lived closer to all of you so I could learn to spin on her too. Oh well, I'll just live vicariously through your spinning adventures instead.

How cool is that. I am so envious I wish I could give one a test run before I go out and buy one. I have had my eye on a Fricke but I would love to try it first. Your yarn looks great way to go!

Beautiful, Noolie! And look at what you made! It's like magic, maybe more magical than turning yarn into garments, you've turned globs of fleece into yarn. Don't worry, Chris, I won't be spinning any time soon. I still poke my tongue out when I knit sometimes!

This is why I seldom post. Can anyone tell me what I did to post the same comment 5 times in one minute?

Alice looks just lovely and right at home. I envy you your commitment and successes. I'm having enough trouble with a pair of lace socks. Good wishes for beautiful spinning.
