Lame title, I know. I can't think of a clever title right now.
Thank you all very much for all the congrats and well wishes about yesterday's news. We are very excited about the new addition to our family and you can be sure that there will be a lot of teeney tiny FO's showing up on this blog in the future :-) I have a few items that I must finish up before I can start any of the wee baby items, though.
I finished knitting the Booga bag last night and the SIX FEET OF I-CORD this morning. Is there anything more boring to knit than an endless strand of I-cord? I didn't think so. Here's a picture of the bag, pre-felting:
I just love the colors; don't you? I'll be felting this tonight so that it has time to dry before the next class on Monday. I've decided that I'll donate this bag to the auction being held at the end of this month to benefit the High School Shop teacher in town who is battling Leukemia. I had no real plans for it when I started it so when Samm mentioned the auction to me and asked what we could donate, it just seemed like that was the best thing to do with it. Samm is going to donate a couple of watches she made.
I have nothing else knitting related, so I'll share some pictures from my sister's 50th birthday celebration at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Burlington, MA. Her birthday was actually a week ago, but the Aunts and Cousins (girls only) celebrated on Tuesday. It was my first time at this restaurant and it was YUMMY.
Aunts Barbara and Cheryl and my Mom
Aunt Betty, Sherri the Birthday Girl, and Sharon
Hugo, the waiter, delivers the cake and they sing Happy Birthday in Italian. At least we think that's what they were singing, but who knows since none of us speak Italian. Well, I do speak a little Italian, but not in public ;-)
I really was there too, but I neglected to ask anyone to take a picture of me. My sister took one of me in the back seat of the car on the way home (while she was driving!) but that was quickly deleted, as were the ones I tried to take of myself - EGADS! I looked awful!
Have a great day!
Booga Bag..awesome colorway! Is it for you??
Sounds like the bday party was a success. What did you have to eat??
Everyone looks so happy : )

Looks like fun was had by all. I still haven't made a booga bag! One day... One day. :)

I think the bag will make a wonderful item to auction -- one of a kind! We forget so many people outside the knitting community think we work magic because we make something with our hands (I guess we do, but you know what I mean).
Sounds like you had a great girls' time out!

Ooooh, the I-Cord! I have a Booga Bag OTN right now, but I'm trying not to think about the I-Cord. :0)

I can't wait to see the bag felted. What yarn did you use? I haven't done that one yet and I'm starting to think I need to.
Looks like you ladies had a lovely time. And there's nothing wrong with being the one behind the camera. ;^)

Nice Booga bag colors! I guess I'm weird, I actually like knitting i-cord! I love Romano's, good thing it is over an hour away!

Julie, you're such a thoughtful person... what a nice thing to do by donating the booga bag to the auction!
Glad you had fun out with your family.

you've been so busy! The blanket looks gorgeous but I don't think I see any other crochet squares...I dared to be different eh? Happy birthday sister of Noolie, I really don't like to be 50 at all but hey, it's just a number! Congratulations on the baby...its such fun to make all those little bitty things....

I love the bag! I haven't done a great deal of felting lately. I sort of killed my washing machine the last time I was felting everything in sight. :) But I recently hand-felted a bag and it looks really nice.
We'll add felting to the summer to-do list!

Knitting i-cord is the perfect time to practice knitting and reading!

OHH.. I DO love that colorway. I'm working on a felted bag myself for my neice, but I've been putting off the i-cord handle. I know you understand why!!
Looks like a great party! mmm... Italian food rocks!

Julie, I *love* your booga bag, the colors are great!! which colorway is it?? I am ready to make a second one, it is good mindless knitting for meetings at work. I made my i-cord during a training I had at work. Of course, my daughter has claimed it so I have to make another for me!!
