· Samm’s Etsy store is finally up; I've put a link in the sidebar. She’ll be updating it later this week with some more earrings, a few necklaces, bracelets, and at least one watch. I’ll keep you posted when she updates in case you’re interested J
· We had a beautiful long weekend; the weather was perfect all three days. I went to dinner with a friend in Portsmouth on Saturday night and we ate outside by the water, had a couple Margueritas, and did some shopping. It was the perfect weather for it.
· I’ve almost completed the Fisherlad Guernsey that I started way back at the end of April.
Since taking this picture, I’ve knit to the cuff on that last sleeve; just a few rows of k1 p1 ribbing to go and then seaming up the sides. I’ll finish this up tonight at Chicks with Sticks. It’s always good to bring something mindless J
· I’ve given up on my May Day socks for Sockamania. While I love the pattern and I love the yarn and the way it’s working up in this pattern, I keep making stupid ass mistakes. Also, for some stupid ass reason, I cast on for the small size (knowing full well that my size 8 ½ feet are not small). I kept telling myself that they were going to fit. Ha! Joke's on me. When I got this far, I decided to try them on. That was the final straw; the sock is in time out. I’ll frog it and reknit it after I do the socks for June. Not a very good start to this knitalong!

· I started another pair of socks yesterday while sitting in the sun.
You are not imagining things; I am knitting a sock toe-up! Mel gave me directions to the Sherman short row method and showed me how to do it a while ago when he came to Chicks with Sticks (I promised him I wouldn’t call him a dick, so the name must remain the same). This method is so easy and very, very neat – no holes! I’m going to try the heel flap for toe-up socks that Chris suggested for this pair of socks. Getting pretty adventurous, aren’t I? (I'm using Cascade Fixation on size 3 dpn's)
· I received this beauty in the mail last week
It’s the May Spunky Club yarn; Spunky Eclectic Tough Sock, Superwash Wool/Nylon blend, “Nightshade”. Pretty, yes?
· Being the big ole copy cat that I am, I ran right out to Kinko’s yesterday, after reading Auntie Ann’s post, and got my copy of this book spiral bound:
Now that it’ll stay open, maybe I’ll use it more.
The End J
ooo...lots of great things! I have that same fixation yarn with which I am dying to make a pair of socks for myself. Yeah, in me free time. lol I LOVE that spunky sock yarn! I got my club shipment of fiber in similar colors and I can't wait to spin it (see above sarcastic comment). Anyway, I'LL SEE YOU TONIGHT!!! Hoping to drag a few more Manchvegans w/ me, too. We'll see.

So....are you saying those socks have been just ass for you? heee. seriously, a good time out and ripping back should show that yarn and pattern who's in charge!
Beautiful little guernsey! and lovely yarn! and the cat's...er...well, let's just say I'm laughing mine off...cats are so funny.

Wow! The sweater is looking really good! Bummer about your May socks though! I love my spiral bound SKS..gotta bring in the other one! As for your Spunky of the Month, just gorgeous colors! Looking forward to hearing how your fixation sock goes!

I haven't tried that sock heel, but the Baudelaire heel from Knitty is my new favorite toe-up sock heel. It comes in multiple sizes, too.

are you Really likin' the toe up? hhmm. I'm thinking about it, but seem to be stuck in a comfort zone rut.
Can't wait to see what Samm puts in Etsy!

Wow, you've been busy! Hope this is helping with the quitting smoking.

Spiral binding the knitting books!! Doh! This is one of those things that never occured to me...and should have. I'm always saying, "gee, they should bind these so they'll say open..."
Congrats to Samm on the Etsy store! I'll have to check it out.

Last night my binding broke and the pages all fell out of my Folk Knitting in Estonia book - I was distraught - maybe I could bring the pieces in and have it spiral bound?? (I'll bring Montse Stanley at the same time!!)
I LOVE your little guernsey!

Go, sweater!! Hey, that fixation looks an awful lot like one of my java jackets. :)
Kitty butt!!!

LOVE the sweater! Absolutely inspiring!

your cat looks so comfy! and funny....
I really must try toe up socks, the yarn looks fun, but I have to say that I love themayday socks more. The little Guernsey looks fun. I used to live in Jersey which is right next door to Guernsey in the Channel Islands and I've never knitted one, perhaps I should?

Too bad that sock would not cooperate, it's really very pretty. I guess the saying "beauty is only skin deep" also applies to socks. Crazy cat, what exactly is she trying to do?

Sounds like a great weekend, except for the sock not cooperating! Yay on the toe up, I have yet to try that, I bet it will turn out great, it looks good so far! I love the Guernsey, is it a kid's size sweater?

The End. hehe
I love your new sock yarn. Amy makes some pretty colors, doesn't she?

Sweater is very impressive! You're almost done...yea!
That yarn with the sock pattern looks so cool! I never would have thought of using one of those self stripes with such a pattern but it REALLY works out..wow.
How're you liking the Cascade Fixation? For me, it took some time getting used to, but it's so nice to wear once they're done.
Love that new Spunky yarn!

Gorgeous guernsey! I cannot imagine making something that intricate and (quite honestly) lovely. Great job! The Spunky yarn is adorable and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
The chicken....She's a Fiber Trends pattern called "Henrietta & Family." I opted not to do the chicks that go along with her, but for a sweet new grandchild, that would be pretty neat. ;)

The sock is jealous that you're working on the sweater, and that's why it's acting up. Time out would be the perfect thing!
LOVE the kitty photo. He/She (I'm sorry I don't know who it is -- Uncle Rico?) has gold eyes just like one of my previous cats.

I really do keep meaning to return to CWS, but life usually gets in the way. Last night it was trying to get some daylilies transplanted, then trimming alpaca teeth while feeding the mosquitoes.
